Pardo and Perkins have Teamed up again with Wonky Films to provide the 3D content for their Movies On The Move (MOM) project.
Retro Robot!
We had loads of fun working on the 3D elements for Wonky's new MOM hand held, GPS gaming project. What's really cool about the game is that the virtual elements actually update in response to where the player is in the real world! How cool is that!!

As a result of our recent spate of awards, the kind people at 'Venue' asked to interview us about of animated creations.

The resulting article was a gloriously flattering two page spread in their 'Profile' section. It featured lots of lovely pictures of our ever expanding array of colourful characters and addressed such weighty matters as Tia's dog pervery!
......us! We've done it again and are delighted to announce that Jaime's 'Birthday Toast' has won the HDgreetings High-Def Anytime Contest.
A 'Toast' to HDgreetings
'Birthday Toast' was voted top of the pile by FaceBook users and is now the number 1 card on the site. Users can upload their own images into the animation, a feature which appealed to the Judges and was reflected in their comments, 'I love to see my photo pop out of the toaster. Nice punchline!'. Jaime's winning card can be seen, customised and sent out for free at www.hdgreetings.com. There's also more 'Toast' cards to come, so keep your eyes peeled!
The paper's Culture section for March 30th, contained a rather flattering critique of both 'Shortfest' and our winning film; 'Ebenezer Morgan's Photography Emporium'.
Propeller TV's film festival was described as "a celebration of the finest original short films, showing an extraodinary degree of imagination and verve". The article continued, "the event's final evening reveals the category winner's and offers another chance to admire the festival's overall winner; 'Ebenezer Morgan's Photography Emporium', Tia Perkins and Jaime Pardo's charming, animated account of a Victorian snapper and his small, troublesome client".
We are delighted to announce that 'Ebenezer Morgan's Photography Emporium' has won best of fesival and best animated short, at Propellor TV's 'Shortfest'.
Best in show!
Showing online and broadcast on Sky Channel 195, 'Shortfest' is Propeller TV's first film festival and a celebration of the finest original short films. We attended the awards ceremony in Leeds on 27th March, where 'Ebenezer Morgan's Photography Emporium' received prizes and shiny awards for best animated film and best of festival. Many thanks to all at 'Propeller TV' and the esteemed panel of judges including; Dave Sproxton (Aardman Animations), Dave Hollis (ITV), Julia Thompson (Sony) and Diane Henderson (Edinburgh Film Festival).
Our work for Nickelodeon is included in this January's issue of the magazine.

'3D World' interviewed us in December and were keen to showcase our channel idents produced for 'Nickelodeon'. The resulting article is in the current issue available this month and can also be viewed online at http://www.3dworldmag.com/
Pardo and Perkins have just delivered 12 x 1 minute shorts to Nickelodeon UK, for broadcast during 2008.
'I like to dance'
The short form series 'Public information spoon' has evolved from our international branding campaign for Nickelodeon. The channel was keen to develop a new series combining live-action and 3D animation and our wooden spoon character was ideal for this technique. The shorts were premiered by Nickelodeon at the Encounters Film festival in November 2007 and we are currently developing 5 minute scripts ideas.
.......us! We are delighted to announce that Tia's 'Christmas fairy' has won the HD greetings animated card competition.
'Best in show'
The competition was judged by Dan Sarto of www.awn.com, who not only commended 'Christmas Fairy' in the design category, but judged the animation to be the best overall card. In Dan's words: "Best in Show - combined all the elements of a good short. Music, design, acting, timing and a gag to boot, all came together quickly and perfectly".
Jaime and Tia were also approached by Channel 4 news to discuss the culture and production of christmas ecards. We were interviewed by Arts correspondent Nicholas Glass and appeared on Friday 21st December, chatting about the pros and cons of digital cards.

Have a 'fairy' merry christmas!
We are delighted to announce our shortlisting in the 'HD Greetings' christmas card competition, which is being judged by Dan Sarto of www.awn.com fame. The shortlisted animations take the form of three cheeky christmas ecards, which are being distributed by 'HD Greetings'. Pardo and Perkins will be adding to this portfolio of unique animated greetings, with new titles to appear in 2008.

Alien invasion over Berlin
November 23rd sees the start of the 2nd Pictoplasma animation festival in Berlin. Billed as "An extended weekend celebrating the very best in animation, motion graphics and music visuals", it showcases all that's great and good in the world of animation and character design. We attended the event 2 years ago, it's a superb festival in one of Europe's most vibrant cultural spots and we're rather pleased to have our Nickelodeon idents included.
